The ninth line-up of Firegarden lasted for five years although this period saw reduced activity both live and on record. New vocalist Harry Sadler and new bassist Chris Heald were accompanied by old hands Jake Mann (guitar), Ashley Tuck (drums) and Andy Gotteri (keyboards). The eponymous Firegarden album was mostly recorded in 2010 but was only released after some overdubs were completed in 2012. A non-album single, Machine Man, was also produced in a short print run and is reproduced here for the first time. A live version of Eden (from 2004's 2164) was the B-side.
